    How to print your Driving Licence as a PVC card

    1. Download your licence PDF from DigiLocker or the Parivahan Sarathi portal.
    2. Choose the PDF in the tool above. It normally opens with no password.
    3. The tool looks for the card shape and shows what it found. Check it carefully: licence layouts change by State and by year, so this document needs a fix more often than others.
    4. If a side is wrong, open Crop not right? Adjust, drag the box onto the licence, and use Back and the page selector for the other side.
    5. Keep 600 DPI, then download both sides or the A4 print sheet. Print at 100% scale.

    Where the PDF comes from

    A digital driving licence is normally taken from DigiLocker or the Parivahan Sarathi portal. Documents fetched into DigiLocker come straight from the issuing record and are digitally signed.

    These PDFs normally open without a password. If yours asks for one, use the rule shown on the page you downloaded it from. The tool asks only if the file is really locked.

    Why licence layouts vary

    Each State transport authority issues licences on a national system. The information is the same everywhere, but the PDF layout can differ by State and by the year the licence was made. There is more variety here than with Aadhaar or PAN.

    That is why the tool always shows you the crop before you download anything. A wrong box takes a few seconds to fix.

    Printing tip for Driving Licence

    Before you print, look at the validity dates and the vehicle classes on the preview. They are small, and they are what someone checking the card reads first. If they are cut or blurred, fix the crop and keep 600 DPI. Settings are explained in the PVC card print size guide.

    Does a driving licence PDF have a password?
    Usually not. Documents fetched through DigiLocker normally open directly. The tool detects whether your file is locked and asks only if it is.
    Is a printed driving licence valid?
    A card you print is a printed copy, not an officially issued licence. A digital licence held in DigiLocker is recognised in its own right, so carrying it in the app is generally the stronger option. Acceptance of a printed copy is up to the officer or organisation asking.
    Why does my licence need manual adjustment?
    Driving licences are issued by each State transport authority, so layouts vary more than for national documents. The Adjust panel lets you place the crop exactly in a few seconds.
