    How to print your UDID card as a PVC card

    1. Sign in on swavlambancard.gov.in and use Download your E-UDID Card. Take the card, not the e-Disability Certificate.
    2. Choose the PDF in the tool above. No password is needed unless the file itself is locked.
    3. You then see a preview of the card the tool found.
    4. Check the preview. We have not yet tested the tool on real e-UDID PDFs, so the box may need moving with Crop not right? Adjust.
    5. Save it at 600 DPI or as an A4 print sheet, then print at 100% scale.

    Card or certificate: pick the right PDF

    The UDID portal gives you two downloads: Download your E-UDID Card and Download your E-Disability Certificate. They are different documents. The card is the one to crop for PVC.

    You can download them only after your card has been made. Until then you can track your application on the same portal.

    About the UDID card

    UDID means Unique Disability ID. The card is issued to persons with disabilities by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, together with a disability certificate. It shows your name, year of birth, gender and photo. Since 1 June 2021, every State and UT must issue disability certificates online through the UDID portal.

    Two official examples of where it is used:

    • Indian Railways lets people with a valid UDID card travel in the unreserved coaches set aside for Divyangjan on Mail/Express trains.
    • Since 1 January 2023, National Institutes and Composite Regional Centres under DEPwD do not charge registration, test or treatment fees to UDID card holders.

    Printing tip for UDID

    If you use the card on trains, keep a printed copy in your wallet and check the photo and UDID number are clear on the preview first. The rest of the settings are explained in the PVC card print size guide.

    Which PDF should I crop, the card or the certificate?
    The e-UDID card. The e-Disability Certificate is a separate document, not the card.
    Does the e-UDID card PDF have a password?
    We have not seen a published password rule for it. The tool checks your file and only asks for a password if it is locked.
    Can I print my UDID card and use it?
    You can print a copy. A card you print is still a printed copy rather than an officially issued card, and whether an office accepts it is their decision.
