    How to print your RC as a PVC card

    1. Download the RC PDF from DigiLocker or the Parivahan portal.
    2. Choose it in the tool above. It normally opens with no password.
    3. Check the crop the tool shows. RC layouts differ by State and year, so a side may need moving.
    4. To fix a side, open Crop not right? Adjust, drag the box onto the certificate, and use Back and the page selector for the reverse.
    5. Download both sides at 600 DPI, or the A4 print sheet. Print at 100% scale.

    Where the PDF comes from

    The electronic Registration Certificate comes from DigiLocker or the Parivahan portal. It is taken from the Vahan record for your vehicle, and it normally opens without a password.

    Why RC layouts vary

    Like driving licences, RCs use a national system but are issued by each State transport authority. The PDF layout changes with the State and the year of issue. Expect to check the crop before printing, and to move it now and then.

    How do I print my vehicle RC on a PVC card?

    Does the RC PDF have a password?
    Usually not. RC documents fetched through DigiLocker normally open directly. The tool asks for a password only if your file is actually locked.
    Is a printed RC accepted?
    A printed copy is not an officially issued certificate. A digital RC held in DigiLocker is recognised in its own right, so that is generally the stronger option to carry. Acceptance of a printed copy is up to the officer asking.
    What DPI should I use for an RC card?
    600 DPI, so the long chassis and engine numbers print clearly.
