    How to print your e-Shram card as a PVC card

    1. Go to eshram.gov.in, choose Already Registered? LOGIN, sign in with an OTP, and download your card.
    2. Choose the PDF in the tool above. If the file is locked, a password box appears; if not, it opens straight away.
    3. It finds the card by its outline and shows you a preview.
    4. Check the preview. We have not yet tested the tool on real e-Shram PDFs, so the box may need moving. Use Crop not right? Adjust if it does.
    5. Download at 600 DPI for a card printer, or take the A4 print sheet for PVC sheets. Print at 100%.

    Changed your details? Download the card again

    You can update your address, mobile number, occupation and more on eshram.gov.in or at a Common Service Centre (CSC). A card you printed before the change still shows the old details. Download a new PDF and print it again.

    The photo is different: it comes from Aadhaar, and you cannot change it on e-Shram. If you update your photo in Aadhaar and then redo e-KYC on e-Shram, the new photo shows on e-Shram too.

    About the e-Shram card

    The e-Shram card is for workers in the unorganised sector. It is issued by the Ministry of Labour & Employment. The card carries your UAN (Universal Account Number), a 12-digit number that never changes. The Ministry says:

    • It never expires. You do not need to renew it.
    • It is free. No one may charge you for registration.

    You can register if you are 16 or older, work in the unorganised sector, are not a member of EPFO or ESIC, and do not pay income tax. You need your Aadhaar number and the mobile number linked to it. Without a linked mobile, a CSC can register you with your fingerprint.

    Passwords

    We have not seen a published password rule for the e-Shram card PDF. If the tool asks for one, check the page where you downloaded the file.

    Printing tip for e-Shram

    Check that all 12 digits of the UAN are clear on the preview. DPI, bleed and the A4 layout are covered in the PVC card print size guide.

    Common questions

    How do I print my e-Shram card on PVC?
    Download your card from eshram.gov.in, choose the PDF in the tool on this page, check the crop, and download it at 85.6 x 54 mm for a PVC card printer or as an A4 sheet.
    Does the e-Shram card expire?
    No. The Ministry of Labour says the e-Shram card never expires and does not need to be renewed. Keep your details up to date.
    I updated my details. Do I need a new card?
    Download the card again after the change, then crop and print the new PDF. A card printed earlier still shows the old details.
    Can I change the photo on my e-Shram card?
    Not on e-Shram. The photo comes from Aadhaar. Update it in Aadhaar, then redo e-KYC on e-Shram, and the new photo will show.
    Does the e-Shram card PDF have a password?
    We have not seen a published password rule for it. The tool checks your file and only asks for a password if it is locked.
